marathon training - week 3

Saturday morning, I got up at 4:45 a.m. and got ready for my training. I was feeling a little bit tired because of the hot and humid weather. I got out of the house at around 5:30 a.m. and went downtown for my 6:00 a.m. training. It was actually a beautiful morning, with the sunshine overlooking the lake and the Chicago skyline. I managed to take some photos with my iPhone.

It was easy and convenient for me to do my training downtown because of the location. Also, training downtown is less crowded compare to Lincoln Park. However, I like running in Lincoln Park, the crowd motivates me and feeds my energy. So, I am torn between convenience and atmosphere. But when it comes down to it, I performed better when I ran in Lincoln Park.

Overall, I wasn't satisfied with my run this morning so I went running again this afternoon to make up for it. I was tired but happy.

See you next week. Happy running.

marathon training - week 2

My alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. this morning. I woke up feeling great and excited about my training. There's something so special about waking up early in the morning. I've always been an earlier riser. It makes me feel very productive.

The marathon training kicks off at 6:30 a.m. I've been meaning to go to the 6:00 a.m. training but I found out that the bus services aren't running early during weekend. It's quite disappointing. Well, I might have to find a different routes to get there. Of course, I didn't realize all these because I missed the first week of my training, I know shame on me, but I made up for it by running thirteen miles instead of six miles.

Anyway, I was happy to see many people running at the lake today. It was a beautiful Saturday morning. I met a few people including our pace leaders. The energy and the vibe of the group are very positive.

Remember to always stretch after running.

Happy running.

countdown

This is the first week, of the 17th week of my marathon training. My first group training is coming up this weekend. I'm so ready and excited!

My training starts at 6:00 a.m every weekend, rain or shine. Most people I know, they don't get up until mid day on weekends, but not me. I'm always been a morning person, so it's really not a big deal for me. All my weekend mornings belong to runnings and delicious healthy breakfast.

If you prepare your mind and your body nothing is impossible.

Happy running.
